Overview
convert-currency.org is a free, static currency conversion website. We do not require accounts, we do not ask for personal information, and all currency calculations happen directly in your browser. Amounts you enter are never sent to our servers.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate site usage, such as which pages are visited and from which countries. Google Analytics may set cookies and collect your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking analytics scripts with a content blocker.
Exchange Rate Data
Live exchange rates are fetched by your browser directly from third-party APIs: the Frankfurter API (European Central Bank data), CoinGecko (cryptocurrency prices), and ExchangeRate-API. When your browser requests rates, those services receive your IP address as part of the standard request. We do not send them any information about the amounts or currencies you convert beyond the standard page request.
Data We Do Not Collect
- No accounts, names, or email addresses
- No conversion amounts — calculations run entirely in your browser
- No payment information
- No data sold or shared with advertisers
Hosting
This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may log standard technical information such as IP addresses for security purposes. See the GitHub Privacy Statement for details.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under data-protection laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to access or delete personal data. Because we do not collect or store personal data ourselves, such requests generally apply to Google Analytics; see Google's privacy documentation for how to exercise them.
